A year in the dye garden
Come spend 2025 in the dye garden experiencing a growing season with Salt of the North. We will start the year with garden planning and seed starting, and end our year in the late fall when we put the garden to bed. Over the growing season you’ll come to the farm for 4 different events which include: spring garden planning and seed starting, early summer seedling planting and natural dyeing day pt 1, mid summer dye harvesting and natural dyeing day pt 2, and a fall garden cleanup and natural dyeing day pt 3.
Each participant will have the opportunity to learn about the dye plants and the basics of natural dyeing including how to scour, mordant, and dye with the dyes grown in the garden. We’ll also cover eco printing, making inks, and multiple methods of indigo vat creation.
